A novelty in city marketing: the ?Leipzig Case? is a charming ambassador for the city and the economic region of Leipzig

Leipzig has come up with yet another creative idea that is sure to
cause a stir in promoting the city: This Wednesday Marketing Leipzig
GmbH, together with their partners, the Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (IHK) and the Chamber of Trade (HWK) will present the new
„Leipzig Case“.
This charming ambassador of Leipzig is filled with everyday quality
products from the region allowing regional businesses to advertise
their locations with real products: a miniature Cayenne car (Porsche),
a Bach CD (Bach archive), the original Leipzig „Messemännchen“ Trade
Fair mascot, the miniature book „Leipzig for the Waistcoat Pocket“
(BuchVerlag für die Frau), shampoo from Londa, a glass and a 0.33 litre
bottle of beer from the Krostitzer Brewery, paper tissues with an
advertisement for aspirin (Bayer Bitterfeld), a piccolo bottle of
sparkling wine from the cellars of Rotkäppchen, a deck of skat cards
(Spielkartenfabrik Altenburg), Florena cream, Halloren chocolates
(Halloren Schokoladenfabrik) and a 0.2 litre bottle of apple juice from
Sachsenobst. The case, designed from a high-quality cardboard, is
completed with selected promotional brochures and local publications.
This classy case will be used primarily as a gift for both guests and
hosts of trade associations, institutions, businesses and city council
for presentations, trade fairs and customer acquisition. An initial
supply of 1,000 limited edition copies have been produced and
assembled, 500 of which have already been ordered by the IHK and HWK.
The „Leipzig Case“ will celebrate its debut this Saturday, September 3,
in City Hall. The Leipzig Junior Chamber, together with Detlef
Schubert, Deputy Mayor for Labour an the Economy, will welcome national
and international guests from Frankfurt, Birmingham, Budapest, Lyon,
Turku and Krakow. The guests will participate in a multi-twinning
meeting of the Leipzig Junir Chamber's partner chapters.
The product is purely regional. Not only is the entire product the
brainchild of Marketing Leipzig GmbH, but the goods which helped
realise this concept are provided by recognized regional manufacturers
and businesses as well as from Leipzig’s largest trade chambers (IHK
and HWK). The company Ellerhold (Radebeul) is responsible for
production, the Stötteritzer workshop (Stötteritz) managed assembly and
the Thorn Agency (Leipzig) the design. Paying tribute to the famous
Hausmann portrait, a winking Bach is displayed on the case framed by
pictures showing the best Leipzig has to offer in business, science and
the arts.
