Leipzig, May 26, 2005 (Marketing Leipzig GmbH). Leipzigers and their guests along with fans of the city all over the world can now choose from a host of items to clearly demonstrate where their affections lie. The marketing campaign „Leipziger Freiheit“ has launched a 17-piece collection comprising T-shirts, baseball caps, key-holders and much more besides. Priced at between €4 and €20, the items can be purchased now in the sports department (third floor) of Galeria Kaufhof in Leipzig as well as in the online shop on the Marketing Leipzig GmbH (www.leipziger-freiheit.de) website.

The new collection for men and women includes both short- and long-sleeved shirts in red and black with beige or white appliqué. The designs range from classical and retro to a two-tone layer look (long and short sleeve shirt). The collection also contains some ladies’ tops. Bearing a choice of slogan on the front – either „LE – Ich bin ein Leipziger“ or „LE – The city with no limits“, there’s no secret about where the wearer’s loyalties lie! Other items include embroidered and woven baseball caps as well as Leipzig key-holders.

„For locals and visitors, as gifts or to wear yourself: this collection helps anyone who identifies with Leipzig to declare their allegiance stylishly“, says Lutz Thielemann, the managing director of Marketing Leipzig GmbH. „Regional demand is met by our cooperation with Galeria Kaufhof, while international fans can spread the word by ordering from the shop at the ‘Leipziger Freiheit’ website.“

„We’re delighted to be able to offer all our customers and fans of Leipzig the new ‘Leipziger Freiheit’ collection at the city’s branch of Galeria Kaufhof”, adds Günther Knie, the department store’s CEO. „Just how much the people of Leipzig love this city became apparent when the articles were still being unpacked: plenty of customers and Galeria Kaufhof staff bought some straightaway. Over the next few days, they’ll be demonstrating their fondness for the city.“

The new Leipzig range is produced and distributed by Fun-Shop Collection, which proved to be a reliable partner in connection with merchandising for Leipzig’s bid to host the 2012 Olympics.
